Christmas Eve E.R.

My darling, 19 year old, Ginger Ale went into respiratory distress and I spent most of Christmas Eve at the NC State Veterinary College Emergency Room. I drew this sketch of the Christmas Tree I sat next to.

Here is Dr. Li’s white board drawing explaining the function of the heart when fluid leaks into the pleural cavity.

We’re home with heart medicine and diuretics to start in the morning but I’m afraid that Ginger Ale is still in great distress. Am waiting for the doctor to call back now.

Oh Suzanne, I am so so sorry. Kittys get a bad rap, but if you have one that loves you they are the most amazing friends. I don’t care what anyone says, when they look at you, sometimes, I swear, they look into your soul and actually get it. I have been where you are with a cat, and know, how hard this Christmas eve must be. My hopes and thoughts are with both of you.

Suzanne, so sorry about Ginger Ale. Hope the medicine and you loving care will do the trick. Hopefully the drawing distracted you a little.

Aw, this is so sad. I hope the planned treatment works well, it’s so hard to have a pet in distress. Keep us updated on Ginger Ale’s condition. Hang in there. ❤ I'll check back for updates.

It is so hard to see such a good friend go through distress. The doctors need the art classes for this very reason, to help us see what is happening.
