The Mockingbird symbolizes:

  • Joyfulness
  • Gratitude
  • Cleverness
  • Intelligence
  • Playfullness
  • Protection
  • Security
  • Communication

I’d say this is a good symbol and illustration with which to begin a new calendar year.

Sincere wishes for all of the above plus Love in this new year. It feels like it’s going to be a good one!

Beautiful; love the colours and detail, I get the impression it’s looking at something and will fly off to investigate any second now.

Are you a Star Trek fan? Love the bird and the words you used to describe him. I’m hoping for a good next year too. May we all get our wishes.

Zanna, I watched The Sand Pebbles last night and Richard Crenna said “Make it so.” to his second officer and I realized that it’s a Naval term. Makes sense.

Heidi, you know those Mockingbirds, if they’re not singing or coaching their young, they’re looking for something!

Beautiful mockingbird. They do have a lot of personality. We have several around our home. They know everything and fuss. Sometimes just chirp as loud as possible while sitting on the chimney like they own the place.
